Science Fair Projects

If there is one thing I could cross off my to-do lists, it would be science fairs. I'm up to three a year now, and thinking of new ideas gets harder each year. Out of necessity, we were looking up how to get rid of fruit flies and found this contraption. Works like a charm. Fruit flies find it easy to go down, but can't find their way back out. Porter tested which kind of food caught the most fruit flies. Hands down, pear. With the cold weather approaching they're finally gone, but tuck away this bit of info for warmer weather.

Cool! That's great to know about those oh so annoying fruit flies! By the way, love your Halloween pictures. Those pirates are soooo cute (I mean scary)!

WOW! I'm impressed. I'll have to give it a go when it starts warming up again. Can't you just repeat older projects in your newer state? I'm all about recycling!:)

I am not a fan of science projects. I will definately keep this one in mind. It sounds great!

I am with Becky, can't you just reuse~especially at a new school? I love recycling!

Oh, I'm a damaged Science Fair mom. No longer will I trudge into that territory boldy OR bravely. Just ask Mr. A. about his 4th grade science project on 'corn.'
All done.

AMY JO!!!

I randomly found your blog through your sister Becky's blog. As I was reading through her entries, I kept thinking, "Gosh, she really looks like Amy Jo Schenewark, I wonder if they are related..." Then in one of her blog entries she mentioned her sister Amy Jo. I knew then that you were!!!

I actually was a witness to that Little Bo Peep costume and can't believe that Tanner is almost 16!

You look like you haven't aged a day since you left the Ashford ward!!!

I will have to tell my mom that I found your blog, she will be ecstatic! She's in China right now and can't look at blogs, but will be back in December.

I am actually back in Ashford, with my husband and little boy. We are staying in their house while they try to get their solar energy business off the ground in China.

Tice lives in Manchester with her 4 kids (crazy that we were just 15 and 17 and you were our YW president...it like it was just a few years ago!)

I'm so glad I happened upon your blog, everyone looks great, healthy and happy!

Love,

Becky Derby Ortinez

I hated them as a kid and I am hoping that my kids aren't interested in them...

um...how come said 'apple' hasn't been showing me comment love on MY blog if she's been reading it? how the heck did she FIND my blog anyhow? :)

Because her last name is about one letter off of yours... she probably pushed that button that says 'next blog' on her dashboard.

I actually found Becky's blog through EP's blog, who I found through New England Living's blog. Who perhaps found through Pulsipher Predilections blog (?), I can't really remember where it all started--(well, really, it started because I was bored at work...)....the blog-eneology is staggering and has no rhyme or reason!

How's that for random?

Awesome Porter! Thanks for our research and grand idea. We get those silly fruit flies every once in a while in the spring, don't recall any this year... but I will definitely save this info and try out your grand research next time they show up!! Thanks again, Sis Bach :)
