Academic All-State Football Team

PIRATE FOOTBALL PLAYERS MAKE ACADEMIC ALL-STATE TEAM
December 8, 2015

Eleven members of the Granbury Pirate football team were honored with selection to the 2015 Academic All-State football sqauds by the Texas High School Coaches Association.

Pirate Football team members making the all-state squads were:

Second Team: Brendan King, Porter Schenewark, Brendon Seago, Daniel Valdez, Clay Walters

Honorable Mention: Morgan Arnold, Justin Brassie, Landon Gray, Tag Locklar, Layne Mercer, Sam Pence

The teams are selected by a system that awards points for grade point average, class rank, and SAT or ACT score. The student-athletes are placed on teams according to the number of points they have earned.

Criteria required to be nominated is: be a senior with an overall GPA of 92 or above, including grades 9-12 and the first six weeks of grade 12; be a member of the team in good standing at the time of nomination; be of good moral character.

The THSCA program is in its fifteenth year and has steadily grown to over two thousand applicants.
