Aaron Hutchins' Blessing Day

Big A, little A, what begins with A?

Adorable, awake, asleep.

Authentic, ageless, addictive.

A Family Affair

‘A new movement’: Pray for the country, its leaders, church official urges Latter-day Saints
By Sarah Jane Weaver  Oct 20, 2019, 8:41pm MDT

WORCESTER, Mass. — President M. Russell Ballard urged members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New England on Sunday evening to “join a new movement” by inviting their neighbors, colleagues and friends on social media to pray for the United States, its leaders and its families.

“Our nation was founded on prayer, it was preserved by prayer and we need prayer again,” said the acting president of the church’s Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. “I plead with you this evening to pray for this country, for our leaders, for our people and for the families that live in this great nation founded by God.”

Speaking to an estimated 12,000 people gathered in the DCU Center, the senior church leader reminded the congregation that “this country was established and preserved by our founding fathers and mothers, who repeatedly acknowledged the hand of God through prayer.”

Happy Father's Day

 From Uncle Aaron's journal -  Father's Day

Yesterday in church I got tapped to play…the piano in primary. When I wasn't needed in primary to play piano, I wandered the hallways…peeking through the looking glass in the classroom doors. I found my father and noticed he was having difficulty maintaining consciousness. Having earlier received a bag of cookies from the Young Women as a Father's Day gift, I walked in, tapped him on the shoulder and handed him the bag of cookies so that he could ingest a quick sugar fix and remain alert through the end of the class. Later at home, he related that they were having a lesson on tithing, and that he had given his cookies, the YW had given him, to a little nursery aged boy whose father was having a hard time keeping him occupied. Receiving my bag of cookies, my father made the following announcement to the men assembled in his class: ‘Brethren, I want you to know that my testimony of tithing has been strengthened. Earlier I gave away three cookies, and a [wandering] servant of the Lord has just now given me four.’
