A Day at the Museum

The name speaks for itself: Brookshire's World of Wildlife...

What a museum!

From the old days and old money of big game hunting -

Although the princess was a little unsure as to whether or not she was in a museum or a zoo!

  

No matter how much we tried, she was convinced the eyes were moving, the necks turning, and the tails wagging ;-)

 

  

This monkey scene sealed the deal - she was out of there!

But the boys always have and still do LOVE the animals!

Children's Park of Tyler

"Behold, children are a gift of the Lord." 

The Children's Park of Tyler, TX is a special place to celebrate the lives of all children...including children who are no longer with us and children with special needs.

Throughout the park are trees, benches, and statues dedicated and in memory of children lost. 

These very large granite bears were hand carved in Barre, Vermont.

Jarrod's favorite statue, as his boys delight in frogs and ponds such as the one in which it was placed.

What would I inscribe so that others would remember my child?

Some of my favorites:

Brookshire's World of Wildlife Museum

One of our favorite places to visit in Tyler is their regional store's museum.

The Brookshire's would go on Safari in Africa, and obtained special permits to return with animals for educational purposes.

They felt it important to share with others what might not otherwise be possible.

Their park outside is fun for the kids, although probably not as popular during their HOT summers.
