Chip Off the Old (really quite young) Block

Mother has been suggesting to me that I post on Craig's list looking for firewood no longer wanted or needed. I thought of telling her no one on the Appalachian side of Ohio uses Craig's list, never mind email or blogs, but just said, "Great idea, Mom. It worked for Aaron, it will work for me." Today, while walking the dog with my buddies, we happened upon men cutting a tree down, and they asked me if I wanted some wood. "Are you kidding?" And they delivered. In Elder L. Tom Perry's words, now I have "FUEL."

Oh, Amy, you are a lucky gal. You just happen to be in the right place at the right time. What kind of a tree is it? If it is pine, you cannot use it in a fireplace because of the pitch. Maybe you don't have pine where you are living. Who is going to split it for you? Will they do that as well? That would be nice.

Hi Amy! so will you guys compete in an old fashioned log sawing competition?
It is wonderful to see your family as they add rings to their own little tree stumps! (sorry for the metaphor couldn't help myself).

NICE! I love these stories of good people helping others.
Especially when the others are people like you're good family!
Hooray for wood to burn, it's getting COLD.
