"Hope is not knowledge, but rather the abiding trust that the Lord will fulfill His promise to us. It is confidence that if we live according to God’s laws and the words of His prophets now, we will receive desired blessings in the future. It is believing and expecting that our prayers will be answered. It is manifest in confidence, optimism, enthusiasm, and patient perseverance.
In the language of the gospel, this hope is sure, unwavering, and active. It is a hope glorifying God through good works. With hope comes joy and happiness. With hope, we can 'have patience, and bear . . . [our] afflictions.'" Dieter F. Uchtdorf, October 2008 General Conference

It's true.
I love the concept of Hope.
It does breed patience, which in turns makes it easier to bear the burdens of our afflictions.
I love you!
Your mother gave you the most wonderful tribute today during her talk in the Boston Stake Conference. She told the story of how you involve your children in family history and then took her to the cemetery in Bellingham. You are such an example Amy!
My hope for today and tomorrow is that you'll find a job by me and come live near us!:)
I love to hear this man speak. what a great message--HOPE. Thanks Amy.
ps: I LOVE the picture that you put with this quote. Very pretty.
Sometimes it feels as though all we have is hope, but that is a good thing if we are hoping for righteous things.
If we don't have hope, we don't have much to look forward to. The definition of hope by Dieter F. Uchtdorf is beautiful. Right now, we hope for peace and for the economy to get back on its feet again. Thank you for including this in your blog, and I love the picture, too.
