There is a Shaker Village down the road from Becky's house, and I found out no one had been to visit.
There is a steep admission for the tour of the village, on the right side of the road.
Or, you can stay on the left side of the road and view a 20 minute movie, which shows you everything on the right side of the road that costs money, as well as visit the museum and shop.
We opted to stay on the left side of the road. Did you know the Shakers were called such as their dancing was very vigorous?Hands to Work, Heart to God.
They attracted a lot of intelligent people and were known for inventing the clothes pin and waterproof fabric, and were in high demand for their seed packets.
And we made sure we had one to share with her!

What a fun thing to do...
did she eat her roll--and keep it down? :)
It looks like you guys had fun. I have never a shaker village.
Really?? How do you do it? You always seem to find great entertainment. Amazing!
Uncle David and I have been to the Shaker Village in Canterbury a couple of times. One time we went there for dinner, and it was wonderful. They were very interesting people but since they were celibate, there are no descendants. I'll bet that roll was delicious, too. A nice treat for the children and for their aunt/Mom as well.
I LOVE Kayla's hair!
