I rescind everything I said about this being an easy babysitting gig. There are girls here. I've only had to do boys, hence this morning's question put me in full panic mode:
"Aunt Amy, do you know how to french braid?"
I distinctly remember telling my mom in 7th grade I only wanted to have boys
because I didn't know how to do hair!
Ouch! Love that loose piece hanging over her ear.
I told her to look in the mirror and see if she wanted to wear her hair that way.
"Aunt Amy, you can do it tighter if you want."

I told her to use lots of hairspray. The best part about Stevie is that no matter how bad I braid her hair, she'll always look great with her cute face and big smile...
P.S. She had to run the mile today at school - and her hair stayed together!

It's OK, you can't be an expert at everything!
Yeah, GIRLS!!! I still don't know how to french braid and look how many I have!!
love that you told her to just use a lot of hairspray.
Good stuff. Hairspray makes the world go round :)
I'm laughing.
hairspray AND girls make the world go round!
She looked BEAUTIFUL! She even wore the same 'do' the whole next day. (Saturday) Thanks Amy Jo! :)
I could do the French braid. My mother used to braid my hair--she'd do the sides and then incorporate them into the back, turn them up and put an elastic around them, and then tie bows on them. I wore it like that I think in the first and second grades. What fun! I used to braid my grandmother's hair--she had long white hair. It was fun. Stevie looks great!!
Oops--I meant I could NOT do the French braid.
Amy JO, help is on the way.
I will teach you how.
