With All Our Love

Dear Tanner and Hunter,

It's getting to the point where I can't remember you. It's time for a visit. One dimensional screen shots on Sunday aren't doing it for me any more, neither are the phone calls. April can't come soon enough. But don't stop calling. I still need to hear your voice.

Sawyer's regular basketball season ended Saturday after winning Friday. Went into double overtime. His age group had a tournament, Miller did not. They don't give out participation trophies or medals, they hand out tee shirts. Kind of like free advertising for the basketball league. His team went undefeated regular season, and finished the end of the season tournament undefeated as well. Came home with a trophy for that. His all star team also had a tournament, and he played Thursday night until 10:30 p.m., an hour away! Yuck! Ridiculous! Unbelievable! Won their first game on Saturday, then lost the next game and were out. Five games in three days, three games just on Saturday. The kid was beat, and very sore this morning when he got up. He hit the floor hard, with his head, and has a BIG bump that's still tender.

Miller began baseball on Friday. He wore his all star uniform to practice, and stood out like a shining beacon of baseball love. Not one other kid was in a baseball uniform. He was happy to know some of the kids on the team, and have a chance to hit whiffle balls. The league is already making me shake my head. The field the league gave his coach to practice on his under construction, so he's using a triangular piece of grass near a creek for practice, and had to rent a field next week using his own money.

Porter's been meeting with the pole vaulting coach three times a week, and hurdling on the other two days.

Cooper was kicked off the soccer team. Apparently the computer let him register but he is too old to play on this team. He'll have to wait until the 9th grade soccer try out in the fall. They did invite him to continue to practice with them, which is great, and refunded our money.

I enjoyed reading Grampy's comments about Tanner's poems. "I've been having some conversation with Tanner recently about writing poems. He's quite good in that his poems convey feelings. So, he and I are exchanging poems. I want him to keep writing. So the deal is if he writes me a poem I'll write one back to him. I sent him one this week that I have been working on and now wait for him to send me one of his he has just written."

We enjoy seeing you and hearing about your dates. And speaking with your A&M on the computer was fun.

Hunter, way to help out your cousin's water polo team...way to bring home the victory! Get that last interview! We're excited to find out where you'll be serving!!!!

I'm thinking due to weather we had no school this week on Wednesday. Again, weird, living in Texas, but the brothers were happy to stay home a day. So was your father. Speaking of him, he cracked me up this week when he hit the "reply to all" button on the computer, and invited the whole university to answer his question. His mailbox filled up all too quickly.

This week everybody is on spring break. This is the first time Dad's university schedule and the local school district have given us the same week off. We'll be looking for fun things to do!

Finish strong! Work hard in your classes! Keep up the grades. We love you, we're excited to be seeing you soon.

Love,

Mom
