It's a glorious sunny 85 degrees this weekend, and a few of us here have sunburns. Breyer's is probably the worst. She is still very fair. Speaking of your sister, she asked me the other morning, "Mom, why doesn't Curious George have a belly button?" She keeps me on my toes! She loves worms, loves to save them from the puddles after we have rain. She finds beetles outside, and talks to them like they're her friend. She still runs from ants and flying insects. And we both love to look at the horses every day.
Today at church Sawyer received the Aaronic priesthood, and Porter bestowed this great blessing upon him. It was sweet to listen to him and feel his sweet spirit. Sawyer is the cutest deacon ever!
Yesterday the church had an Easter egg hunt at the church, and your father took her and Miller. She found one of the golden eggs, and was given a little basket with chocolate and a stuffed green frog. Cooper went as her protector. Dad stopped by Sawyer's baseball game, where I was watching, and then took them to the city Easter egg hunt. More on that later. They ran a little behind schedule, so Miller was disappointed to go to his game before his age group was called.
Sawyer was and will be the main pitcher for his team. One of the fathers there recognized him from the basketball league, and knew he was the highest scoring player, and upon seeing him strike out player after player wanted to know who bred him. It was pretty funny. To some he appears to have super powers. We always say it's because he has so many brothers to play with and to teach him. So thank you for your love and support through the years. He was pulled after three innings so he could pitch this week, and was moved to second base where he made a great tag to end the game 12-7.
Sawyer is still playing on his all star basketball team, and had a tournament this weekend, a game Friday night and two on Saturday after his baseball game. He was toast by the end of the day, but still wanted to go with your father to a treasure hunt he found at a ghost town in Thurber. More on that later, as well, but they found treasure in the form of family together time, and another good story for your father.
Imagine my surprise when I came around a corner, headed home one night this week, to find a car stopped in the middle of the road. Even more of a surprise when I realized all of the occupants were out of the car and looking down at something in the middle of the road. And a shock when I realized they all belonged to me. Jarrod saw a huge toad in the middle of the road, and had the boys out trying to catch it. Not to be kissed of course, because I already have my prince, but to show me one of the "screaming frogs" I hear when we go walking at night. True love ;-)
And last but not least, just for you Hunter, and your "guns," the boys stopped off today because they were thinking of you:
We love you boys. So glad your semester is almost through. Finish strong! Be true!
Love,
Mom
