Dear Miller,
I remember the day you were sitting in church, listening to a violin and flute play John Wyeth's Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing, while tears were streaming down your cheeks. You leaned over to me and asked, "Mom, why do I feel like this?" I told you then that Heavenly Father was touching your heart, and that you were feeling the Holy Ghost.
Today you were baptized, and finished this ordinance by receiving the gift offered to us, the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Hunter did a beautiful job talking about the covenants you make when you're baptized. He quoted Mosiah 18:8-10, and said, "...and now, as ye are desirous to come into the fold of God, and to be called his people, and are willing to bear one another’s burdens, that they may be light; Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the first resurrection, that ye may have eternal life—Now I say unto you, if this be the desire of your hearts, what have you against being baptized in the name of the Lord, as a witness before him that ye have entered into a covenant with him, that ye will serve him and keep his commandments, that he may pour out his Spirit more abundantly upon you?
Tanner did a wonderful job speaking about the gift of the Holy Ghost. I loved his comparison of the Holy Ghost to the voice of our Heavenly Father. He quoted from 3 Nephi 11:2-7: "And they were also conversing about this Jesus Christ, of whom the sign had been given concerning his death. And it came to pass that while they were thus conversing one with another, they heard a voice as if it came out of heaven; and they cast their eyes round about, for they understood not the voice which they heard; and it was not a harsh voice, neither was it a loud voice; nevertheless, and notwithstanding it being a small voice it did pierce them that did hear to the center, insomuch that there was no part of their frame that it did not cause to quake; yea, it did pierce them to the very soul, and did cause their hearts to burn. And it came to pass that again they heard the voice, and they understood it not. And again the third time they did hear the voice, and did open their ears to hear it; and their eyes were towards the sound thereof; and they did look steadfastly towards heaven, from whence the sound came. And behold, the third time they did understand the voice which they heard; and it said unto them: Behold my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, in whom I have glorified my name—hear ye him."
Your brothers love you dearly, and I'm so glad that all five of them were able to participate in your baptism. Your parents love you dearly as well. You are boy number six, and will be the one to finish our family legacy.
Porter's turn to do the baptizing!
Your white towel was a gift - sure helped in drying you off!

I wish I could have been there
Congratulations Miller-man!
Mosiah 5:7 And now, because of the covenant which ye have made ye shall be called the children of Christ, his sons, and his daughters; for behold, this day he hath spiritually begotten you; for ye say that your hearts are changed through faith on his name; therefore, ye are born of him and have become his sons and his daughters.

How wonderful to have all the brothers participate! Congratulations, Miller! (Come, thou Fount... is one of my favorite hymns! I've played it on my flute many times!)
Congrats to Miller! Very cool to have older brothers to baptize.
Wish we were there also!
Congratulations, Miller, on your baptism. What a special day for you to have all of your brothers participate in this special event. Sending you love and hugs. Aunt Shirley
