Eagle Scout Project

Porter's Eagle Scout Project was to digitize names from the newly released  1940 Federal Census.
For the leadership component he had to teach others how to enter these names.
Each entry could take up to a minute to complete (First name, last name, age, sex, married or not, race, birth place...)

His goal was to digitize 10,000 in 10 days.

There were MANY people that supported him in his efforts.

Friends of friends, Tanner's friends, people we don't even know, people from all across the United States that were willing to help him reach his goal.

After his final day to enter, his troop also had a Court of Honor.

(My favorite was Mr. Brown Sign teaching everyone how to tie a sheep shank, just like Follow Me Boys.)

Porter probably has over 25,000 names.
We haven't had the official count, but it was definitely a success!

That second to last picture, of Jarrod, is probably one of my favorites ever--it just captures his personality so well.
