Possessions

I never wear my ring.
It's too nice to wear around the house, and by then, I forget to put it on if I go out.
I really miss wearing it, so I found it and wore it to church last Sunday.
While I was playing the organ I remembered why I don't like to wear it on Sundays!
I took it off. Between songs.
I didn't want to put it in my lap, forget, and then stand up.
I put it on the organ. And forgot.
I remembered mid-week.
This morning we checked: It was gone.
There is another ward after us, so we checked. Nothing.
As I was taking the sacrament today, and feeling really sad, I had a thought.
Jarrod bought my ring by selling his car. There was never any hesitation.
He gave up his only possession that could pay for the ring.
Heavenly Father gave up his most prized possession: His Son.
The Savior gave us the only thing He possessed to save us: His life.
Of course I'm sad, but having that perspective has helped.
I'm grateful for tender mercies.

oh Amy...I'm SO sorry. That must hurt your heart. Mom told me and so I had to pop over and read your blog. She was gonna call you. I really, really hope that it turns up.

Amy- I'm so sorry that you lost your ring. I would be really sad too. I hope that it will turn-up by someone being honest in finding who it belongs to.
What a great analogy of the car Jarrod gave-up for the ring, and of the savior that Heavenly Father gave for us. Thank you for sharing that analogy. I hope you still get your ring back.

So sorry you lost your ring. I can't even imagine how you must feel--empty, I am sure. So much sentiment there. I'd call the Bishop of both wards and ask them to ask their congregations if someone found the ring and to please return it--no questions asked. I do hope that it was found by someone and that they return it.

So sorry about your ring. It's such a hard thing to lose, then to make such a special comparison. Not everyone has a wonderful outlook like you. You're a great example. I really hope it's found. Maybe they will make an announcement.

Amy, I was sorry to read your blog today, but I do agree with the other comments that your outlook brings joy to think about God giving us his son, Jesus for us to have eternal life. I do pray your ring will be found. I will be looking for that blog.

Have you found the ring yet? I didn't know Jarrod sold his car to get you a ring. He is a man that models Christ in many ways.
