Breakin'

It's spring break for the kids. They only get three days instead of a whole week, due to make-up snow days. I'm finding that having six kids home totally alters my way of life. You might think I'm use to six kids, but having everybody home on other days than the weekend puts a kink into my routines. I forget what summers are like until spring break. Then I panic.

Take shopping at SAMS, for instance. Instead of two little guys in a buggy, I have four boys on a large cart, and two meandering everywhere. Everybody stares and does the head bob (I think they're counting).

These two guys are playing broom ball in aisle 13. Hunter always has a ball in his pocket.

Do you have any sugestions to keep boys busy on spring break? To help return some sense of normalcy to my schedule? What makes you happy in your spring break? I know to one son all it took was a pair of colorful shorts.

I think if I came across two lurking teens playing broom ball in aisle 13, I'd either duck and run, or start calling the plays. Funny!

When I saw the playing broom ball photo I cracked up laughing, what a riot! It's good they're playing in the "manly" section of Sam's with motor oil and other 'guy' stuff. Mattresses behind to catch any strays, nothing to break! Your boys are SO GOOD! Hmmm curing spring break for 3 days. Have "pretend school" and have them all write letters and practice their spelling. (yeah right *moan*) or pretend it's Memorial Week and just enjoy them while you still have them. nearby :) Sam's Club is Always an Adventure!

I have the prefect solution, you need more people at the house. It’s like the government, more people must be better. I’ll check with Sis. B and we’ll hurry right down!!! Bro. B.

How many times were you asked-

(people) "Are they all yours?"
(you) "yes, and they all have the same last name".
(people) "Wow, you've got your hands full!"
(you) "yes, I do."

The only way I survived our Spring Break was by us all leaving the house by at least 12:30 and being gone the rest of the afternoon until dinner. Otherwise they never stopped snacking or making messes. My (3 boys) + (summer) = uncontrolled energy. Good luck with your 6.

Outside was our cure. We went on lots of walks and to the park and the normal errands. But I'll have to remember Sams Club as the next best place to play. That was a great picture of them playing in Sams. My boys enjoy viewing any of the videos that you have on your blog. Recently we viewed the eggs in a toast or birds nest. That was all my boys wanted for breakfast during spring break.

Well, now Spring break is over an we're back to our old routine.

Maybe you can post a Summer to do list for active- and energetic boys. You are such a great mom Amy.
