Birthday Wishes

I've known for a couple of years that my mother's daily request from my father is a game of Scrabble - usually played at breakfast. " All I want is one game." This picture is on her birthday, and was one of her gifts.
But I did not know that when my mother was a little girl, her yearly wish was to have a snowstorm so school would be cancelled. Having a birthday in January makes that highly probable.
This is all because what she wanted on her birthday was to build a snowman.

It wasn't easy finding the snow, but her wish came true. School was cancelled and she got to build a snowman. Even before breakfast.

Your parents are too cute for words (pun intended :)

My b'd day is a ways away, I'll have to think about it...but a 3 hour nap sounds nice.

Fantastic Scrabble, toothless, Snowman pictures! I love that sweater Mimi is wearing and Grampy's got the Scrabble Dictionary close at hand *grin* So how did the toothfairy give Sawyer the new Dick & Jane book for his swallowed tooth? The threesome smiley snowman picture is priceless ~ good job Hunter, Mimi & Snow!

Glad she found enough snow to make a snowman. Loved all the pictures. Great respite for two very busy people.

visiting your number 1 daughter for vacation: $1000.00

Scrabble dictionary: $10.00

Finally getting you childhood wish during your second childhood: priceless.

I almost said
ChefTom, LOVED that comment! (Because I did... until I wanted to shout: HEY! I'm the number one daughter! First in the womb, last one out, right Amy?)
I love that mom has simple wishes. They are easy to grant, and make you feel good while doing it. That's her style.

One of my favorite quotes is, "Childhood is the most beautiful of all seasons"--we all should fulfill our childhood dreams even if we are grown children.

We LOVE Scrabble...though we don't play everday. We play a lot when my mom comes to visit. Steve even wrote an essay for his English class titled, "How to win at Scrabble." He concluded that the sure fire way to win is to memorize all of those 2-letter words!
