Dear Tanner and Hunter,
Thanks for calling! We love to hear from you, love your exciting updates, and love to hear about the successes in your lives.
We will have a lot of planning to do for the upcoming activities you will be involved in so keep us updated!
Dad came in this morning and told me he had heard this on the radio: "Tweet others as you want to be tweeted." So true! He loves to keep me updated ;-)
Sawyer and Miller were both involved in their end-of-the-season baseball tournaments. Sawyer's team, after the regular season, was 3rd out of 7th; Miller's was 4th out of 8th. After playing two games each and winning, they're now both in the championship game. Now what makes this so interesting is that the game was scheduled for Sunday. Sawyer told his coach he wouldn't be playing, Miller said he would, but then said he'd be praying for rain. And rain we got. All night Saturday into Sunday, heavy downpours and thunder storms enough so that the fields were too wet to use. So we'll be playing tonight. Miller and his little prayers. Do you remember him praying for a star for his tree, and one showed up on our doorstep? He is very grateful. And so is Sawyer's coach.
It's been interesting, living right in the middle of the Bible belt, to find that Sunday is used for sports. The boys have a long road ahead of them, and seem to be standing almost alone in their position of not playing sports on Sunday. Reminds me of Moroni, "and I even remain alone."
Miller killed our first black widow. He found it in the garage, tried to dredge up concern among his older brothers but no one bit, so he took care of it himself, and brought it in for a closer look.
Sawyer said he won first place off in his gym class this week. ;-)
Dad went chasing after the road runner, with the camera, and caught him in the front yard. We do love this big bird!
Porter has caught the cooking bug. I came home from baseball games and found him making a loaf of bread (below). Then he concocted a saucy chicken dish. Last night it was a double batch of bread.
This inspired, even though the mixer was busy, Cooper jumped on the bandwagon and made a DELICIOUS chocolate cake, and graciously invited your sister to help. Since there was going to be cake, they decided to make it a party, and made party hats to wear while we ate cake.
Time is short this morning, so I'll close, reminding you of our love. Be safe, be happy, and be sure to call!
Love,
Mom
