Dear Thing 1 and Thing 2,
Now that Halloween is behind us, I might have to start addressing you with your names. Everyone wanted to know where Thing 1 and Thing 2 were! It was confusing to see such numbers as 6, 3 and 5.
We partied at the library, walked the downtown square (below), trunk'n treated at the church, and ran the neighborhood streets. Your brothers got you a lot of candy to munch on in a few weeks. If there is any left.
Your brother Miller LOVES putting on super hero costumes just for fun. He hung on to the mask the longest, and even wanted to wear it to church today.
We drove up to your aunt and uncle's house in Tyler yesterday. It takes three hours. We hit THIS place mid way for lunch. I haven't had one of their burgers since 1997! When we would visit Grandpa Schenewark, driving each way took about seven hours. One the way back you two would fall asleep in the back of the car, and Dad and I would stop there to enjoy the peace and quiet, the cool night air, and a hot burger. Yum! We'll have to stop there on your visit in December.
We drove to Tyler to see this beauty in her school play: The Medicine Man. She was fabulous! Her accent was amazing, and her presence on the stage very commanding. Her lines were the only ones that made me spontaneously laugh out loud.
We went on our must-always-do-when-we-visit pilgrimage to the bamboo forest. These two yahoos insisted on leading the way. We had a few turn abouts, and a few extra jumps over the creek, but they eventually got us there.
The two yahoos found a long grapevine and were in line to swing on it. When Porter went, it broke and dropped him flat on his bottom. Very funny!
Not sure if you've met the new dog: Laslo, the Hungarian Vizslo (pointer and retriever). He's very sweet! And definitely similar to Wheeler.
Your sister fell in love with the FIVE dogs! The other four much smaller than Laslo ;-) She literally spent her entire time in the dog room, outside with the dogs, performing her forklift maneuvers when she wanted them moved, and very content to sit and cuddle. She DID NOT want to leave.
It was wonderful to get away for the weekend. Porter officially began basketball practice Wednesday, had his first breakfast Saturday morning (of course he insisted I make cinnamon rolls), and will begin again in earnest this week. I'm very happy for him.
Cooper continues to either go in early or stay late every day to practice for the band competition this weekend. He actually brought his golden ticket up to show the family this weekend. I guess he's feeling a might proud of that accomplishment.
Your cousins in New Hampshire are busy! Kaleb had an "intense game where they fought hard all the way to the last second. It was tied 0-0 at half. White Mountains scored off a header on a corner kick about 5 min into the second half. About 5 min later we mirrored their goal with Kaleb making a Beautiful header into the goal off a perfectly set corner kick. I swear he was high than the cross bar at the peak of his jump. He tied the game which went into double overtime and then onto penalty kicks to win. We put in 4 to their 2. Stevie's team also pulled off the win 3-0 against a team just a month ago they lost 3-1 to. It was a sweet victory as their team is so young." Go Ortons!
And Go! boys! Be good, laugh a lot, love each other, and take care.
Love,
Mom

We love the weekly letters!
I'll always love our tree climbin' Monkey! He just needs to grow a tail now to help catch his fall, now that he's ultra tall! Glad to see he's still climbing... :)
Loved the letter and the pictures--great fun!
