The Final Act!

We visited the Joan Edwards Playhouse on the campus of Marshall University to finish off Showman requirements for the Webelos den!

It's such a beautiful building!

The boys were shown the make-up room, and mostly wanted to talk Special Fx...

They were shown the impressive theater...

They talked stage left, and stage right, and rode down stage to the pit...

The talked lights, pulleys, curtains, traps, and walks...

They were shown were props and scenery are built and saw this very cool floor, that can be nailed into, and the holes are reabsorbed  - the wood swells to fill the holes!

They were shown where the large scenes are painted, and the moving wall to reach really tall scenery!

They visited the storage room for doors and windows...

The room for knicks and knacks...

The room for chairs, tables, beds and furniture...

And given an impressive take-away: Authentic cigar boxes from the Dominican Republic from an old cigar factory/shop play...Very nice!

What a great experience! I'd love to take that tour myself.
