Letter #34

Dearest FAMILY,

I'm so HAPPY. Wow. It's good. Life is good. And I am still in Agudos, with the excellent Elder Beaudoin. I'm excited about the email policy change because it means I can email all my missionary friends around the world, and if I have their email, get their addresses to send letters: )

We had our investigator baptized Monday with just her family, before Elder Batista left.

Elder Beaudoin and I have realized that Elder Parker is cursed with the "pillow curse." Before being my companion Elder P left his pillow in the other area, I left mine in Tupã and Elder Beaudoin's was recently left in Cascavel. BEWARE all ye companions of Elder Parker!  I hear he´s doing well. I do miss the cool cat.

Well, news. I've got to tell you the week was rather rough, though I don't think I´ll count details right now. Needless to say, as I said, life's good, I'm pumped to work with Elder Beaudoin, who is an answer to many prayers. He is an EXCELLENT missionary, and I can tell that we're going to really enjoy this part of our mission.

I bartered for a hammock in the street, but we really don't have a place to hang it. Oh well, it was cheap and blue and calling my name!

This week I had divisions with Elder Arnaud, zone leader, met Elder Thomas, had a late night chat with Elder Cummings on his way to Cascavel. It was nice to catch up, even if it was on twenty year old mattresses on the floor that I'm pretty sure were alive!

It has rained torrentially for like five days, but it is cooler, which is NICE. And this week I should get a LARGE group of letters, Thursday. It's just going to be fantastic.

Congrats to Greg!! You're the MAN. And you´re not so far away. Excited to have some family in the field.

I really can't think of any funny stories this week, except Elder Beaudoin. In the vocabulary of Uncle Zach, this guy is a "hoot." Oh and our recent convert is getting pretty cool, going to seminary every day, and you can really see the gospel changing him for the better. The whole family!

Thought from Alma 36, as if I was speaking: "Yea, and from that time even until now, I have labored without ceasing, that I might bring souls unto repentance; that I might bring them to taste of the exceeding joy of which I did taste; that they might also be born of God, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. Yea, and now behold, O my son, the Lord doth give me exceedingly great joy in the fruit of my labors; For because of the word which he has imparted unto me, behold, many have been born of God, and have tasted as I have tasted, and have seen eye to eye as I have seen; therefore they do know of these things of which I have spoken, as I do know; and the knowledge which I have is of God. And I have been supported under trials and troubles of every kind, yea, and in all manner of afflictions;... yea, and I do put my trust in him, and he will still deliver me."

AMEN! I hope this week you are as excited as me, and as Elder Beaudoin and as Elder Parker! In modo of Aunt Tina, "People!" We have the everlasting gospel, in the 9th inning, with 2 outs and bases loaded. Get Pumped. If you don´t know how, read the Book of Mormon and share the gospel. Promise it works.  It works for me!

Love you, Pray for you, Think of you and So Happy to be a Part of You, my family, and friends,

Tanner

Now THAT's a snail! Hoo boy!! Love the hammock, too. His positive attitude continues to serve him well in the face of adversity.

Love your new horizontal HugglePod!

And love that last snapshot ~ if you want it to hear the gospel (or just your handsome voice), sing to it! ENG Hymn #62 or PORT #29 Ó Criaturas do Senhor.

We Love you Elder Tanner! <3
