Sawyer's Talk

My talk today is on being a disciple of Jesus Christ. This means to follow and do what Jesus did. I can do this even when it's hard. Sometimes I have to miss birthday parties. A lot of times I have to miss my basketball and baseball games. I know I am being blessed for being obedient and keeping the Sabbath day holy, just as Jesus did. Sometimes our actions are noticed by others. My basketball all-star team knew I wouldn't play in Sunday games so they took another player on the team for when I couldn't play. When we act like Jesus did we are following in His way and we can be called His disciple. I know this blesses me because trying to be a disciple of Jesus helps me to be better.

(It's all good on paper, but sometimes a little reinforcement is necessary ;-)
Being reverent on the couch because it didn't happen in church.

Great talk, we are feeling the same Sabbath day pressures too! Love the couch pic, I've never seen them not reverent! :)

I'm sure it's hard not to be able to do things that you'd like to do when the event is on a Sunday, but I'm glad that Sunday is kept holy. I remember when stores were closed and Sundays were for family. Not so in our society today which is sad. There are some trips with the Mystic Valley Railway Society that Alice and I would like to take, but they are on Sundays and we both feel church is Number One on our list. God has given us seven days, we can certainly give Him one!

My older two are the ones who struggle with reverence. Cute idea with all of them on the couch.
Shhhhh, be still. :-)
