Feed the Birds

We have a real Christmas tree every year.
What to do with it in January is something I ponder once a year.
This year we redecorated it and rededicated it to the birds.
A little cranberry and popcorn...
old bagels, peanut butter...

sunflower seeds, corn meal, walnuts (a few) and oats...

Did not take long for them to find the tree on our porch and begin to empty the bagels!
Come feed the little birds, show them you care
And you'll be glad if you do.
Their young ones are hungry,
Their nests are so bare;
All it takes is tuppence from you.
"Feed the birds, tuppence a bag,
Tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag.
"Feed the birds," that's what she cries,
While overhead, her birds fill the skies.

Though her words are simple and few,
Listen, listen, she's calling to you:
"Feed the birds, tuppence a bag,
Tuppence, tuppence, tuppence a bag."

Sis. Bach is going to love this posting. We at times put a fake Christmas tree in the backyard just so the birds have a place to sit.
