Mummification Science Project

Porter's testing three different types of salt to see if there is a difference in the time it takes to dry these apple slices.

Sea salt, iodinized salt, and rock salt.

I'm wrinkling just thinking about his project!
Can you imagine being preserved in salt?
Or getting your ham out of the barn, having been cured in salt?

Sounds like Porter is getting ready to preserve the Pharaohs for the ages.

I think the finest grains will work best, but that’s just my guess. Powdered salt, if they make such a thing.

I'm grateful we don't have to preserve your awesome records of science projects with your boys in salt--a nod to modern technology.

Have you ever eaten an apple with salt on it? I have, and it brings out the flavor. Try it.

Hmmm- you'll have to let us know how it turns out!! I actually like a little bit of salt on a granny apple every now and then :)

Interesting science fair project. Can't wait to see the results. Porter, you like a true scientist. Good luck to you.
