Whitewater Rafting

This was the final adventure in our trip to New England, a white water rafting trip in Maine, just this crew. Definitely a lot to wear just to ride in a raft!

Meeting the boat and the skipper i.e. guide.
Hunter asked if anyone wants to back out.
The handrails helped slide the boat to the launching site.
Down to the river below.
Lunch was waiting for them mid day. Nothing like steak in the middle of Maine woods.

Unusual scenery as they rode by!

Relaxing in between the rapids.

In the calm of the river, the guide let you float down the river, one of the highlights of the trip.

Even funner when those helmets came off!

Their boat was one of the few that didn't overturn, although Porter was ejected one time and went flying!

Into the rapids!

Everyone needs to paddle, NOW!

Naomi, Porter, Tanner, and Uncle Roger take a hit.

Coming out of the rapid known as "magic." It is call "magic" because to everyone else near the river the raft disappears into a hole and then "magically" reappears.

One last man (Hunter) goes overboard.
Boys awaiting a new adventure.

What wonderful pictures. Glad they all had such an awesome time. Uncle D and I did this in 1999 when we did the National Parks trip. Our rapids were only a 2-3 which was fine with us. We got soaked and I laughed my head off--I was sitting in front! Uncle D was one of the paddlers sitting on the side of the raft. Fun times!
