The Dreaded Day is Hair

There's not too many days I dread, but there is one that comes up about every six weeks: haircut Saturday. I know I shouldn't complain, after all it does save at least $70 to do it myself, but it's NOT my favorite thing to do. Fortunately, my husband is always grateful enough to do the cleaning up. I complain after seven cuts, I can't imagine doing this full time. Hats off to stylists.

That is so funny! Is that your son in the background using a vacuum on himself? Funniest thing ever! You are a tough mom...and patient.

I bet your back is complaining too. I have a memory of my dad cutting my hair once. then it was off to the professionals.

I don't think you would complain as much if you didn't have to bend over like that...my back hurts just looking at the pic. Really though, I dread cutting my families hair too, don't know what it is...I'm happy to cut any one else, just not my kids...they quack too much!

Yes, you must get something higher for them to sit on.

I too hate cutting hair and Todd is now just a buzz cut, and I only have to do 3! I say hats off to stylists too, I could NEVER do it for a living!

I know only one cut - the buzz - my husband WON'T let me touch his hair so I have only Kaleb to do. Kayla's never grows and Stevie is about once a year. (me too)

I can't say your victims, ahem, boys look too thrilled about haircut Saturday either--but good for you!

We need to get some better Clippers. It would cost us about $50 for our family each time. It pays off to do the haircuts ourselves. We have let our boys grow their hair long one year. It looked nice but then it took alot to get them to keep it up. The Bottom line is that we are preparing these young men to go on missions so they should get used to the short hair now.

CUTE! Love that Face too, Miller! :) My Mom's a hairstylist, she always uses a BOOSTER seat in her chairs! Not so much back bending... you can also put the littlest ones up on your kitchen counter on the corner... add a swivel base for extra spin and you're all set *grin* I'm lucky, only one boy who gets hair cuts ... Jonathan cuts his own... been doing his own since I think when he was around 14ish... now he has no more hair, cuts them all off :(

I remember trying to give my Dad a haircut until I could get him to the barber. I almost made a mess of his head. Used my mother's hairdresser scissors to rim around the ears and the back of the neck. It looked o.k., but I never tried it again. Amy, remember a friend of yours you gave a haircut to several years ago--before you met Jarrod--and gave him a "hair hole" when you cut his hair? I laugh everytime I think of it. You must have improved 100%--lots of experience now. Love, Aunt Shirley

Oops! I meant "trim" around the ears.

The cutest client ever! And YES. Get a bar stool or put him on the counter! I don't do bending when I cut hair over here. The results are worth it!

I know what you mean- three hair cuts each month and counting. I will wait as long as I can- but then I give-in when the hair-gel doesn't do much help any longer.
