With All My Love

Dear Children,

Sometimes there are no thoughts of what to share in my head, and other times my head is overflowing. I'm beginning to think a belly of hot chocolate with cream is the key :-)

On Sunday Sawyer and another priest prepare and bless the sacrament for two shut ins in the ward. One is a quadriplegic and the other a 90 year old lady who reminds me of a Rosie the Riveter. It's a sweet experience watching him perform this ordinance. Made even sweeter that they both have younger brothers that were there, watching together, and will probably be doing this together as well.

Monday I was invited to go on a hike. We went to the Glen Rose Dinosaur Valley State Park. I brought the dog. He was in heaven. It was a beautiful fall day, lots of sun, a little breeze, trails and rocks, and water. We'll be back again. Together. He was off leash, a violation of the park, but is so obedient I wasn't worried.

I had lunch with Miss B this week as well. She's a delightful companion, very versed in keeping the conversation going. I couldn't make her Thanksgiving dinner lunch so went at a different time.

Last night we had the missionaries over with a member and her non member husband. He's the new golf pro over at the large Pecan Lake golf course. He's a 20143 graduate of GHS, knows Sawyer's coaches, and their golf capacity, and has a wife due next week. They were delightful.

Sawyer had his first varsity game last night. It's nice to teach the principle of hard work and see results based on the skills he's worked hard to develop. All you boys have done this as well. Could not be prouder. He didn't play a lot. He is the first off of the bench. The starting team is all seniors. There are two other sophomores on the team, one his good friend Nathan.

During the second quarter Sawyer was elbowed very hard in the mouth. Made him stumble a step or two, but he kept going. At the end of the play a time out was called, for whatever reason, and then his mouth started pouring blood. In the team huddle. Because the trainers couldn't get his lower lip to stop bleeding, he couldn't go back in the game. He put his tooth all the way through the lip, or perhaps bit through his lip.Now his cute chunky lips are even chunkier. A nurse practitioner in the ward used my first aid supplies to glue him back together. On the outside portion. The inside wasn't bleeding as heavily. He had already eaten earlier so he shook up some ice cream and milk, while he did his homework. I left him scrambled eggs for the morning, frozen yogurt and applesauce. I'm sure it will be larger and more tender. Pirates opener was a 54-39 win over Joshua.

Miller is done with baseball. The end of season tournament was cancelled due to the rain, and after two attempts they handed out the medals according to the team records. He's excited to be moving to basketball, and for the first time is watching his brother play ball.

Dad heard back from the executor of Dr. Park's will in regards to the proceeds. She's still working out some details, as three of the beneficiaries have passed away, and is in the process of contacting family members.

I cherish all my family members. Looking forward to reuniting with some of you over the holidays.

Love,

Mom
