What a week! Most of our activities were sport related. Imagine that, only four boys left at home, and we're still cheering on the sidelines. One of my favorite things to do after being in the house all day is to sit outside at a baseball game, and watch you boys play.
Porter had a second track meet this week. Dad left work early and traveled to Joshua, and just missed seeing him jump. He came in fourth place, not too shabby when there's nine schools!
Cooper's still practicing with his soccer team but can't play in their games because he's too old. He was also asked by the high school tennis coach to begin coming to their Saturday tennis clinics, so he went this week. She saw him when the middle school eighth graders were touring the high school facilities, and "starred" his name so she could remember to ask him to try out.
Sawyer had a great game yesterday. He had a one RBI double, and a two RBI triple. He also pitched the last inning, after pitching three innings in his Friday night game. Dad usually stays with him, and I leave and go on to Miller's game. And, with two outs, and two strikes on the batter, he stole his way from first to home pitch by pitch. The next pitch the batter struck out.
I keep forgetting to take pictures at Miller's game, as I always have to do the book! Miller hit a home run the first time at bat Friday evening, but couldn't hit another one just right. On Saturday, he made an out at first, and then ran towards home knowing his catcher wasn't watching, and dove to make the tag on the runner nearing the plate. Got him out, got a lot of cheers, and trotted back to first. I heard someone in the stands say, "That boy is focused." That he is. He loves to play.
The wildflowers across the street are breathtaking. Dad comes home from work everyday and wanders over to take pictures. Others stop in their cars, hauling out their children, and smashing the bluebonnets, to pose their children in the midst. I too am guilty of such an act with your sister. Perhaps we should post a sign, "Wildlife Management," to discard others who will come to trample?
I hope this photo cheered you up as much as it did me. What a lovely thing to see after knowing Grampy had been in the hospital all week. I'm so glad he finally came home today. Thank goodness for ice cream, and the uncle that thought to bring it. Just what this doctor would order ;-)

We love you two boys dearly! We miss your warm bodies here at the house. Skype is so flat, and the connection tonight was awful. Come home soon!
Love,
Mom

Stealing first to home is no joke. Impressive skills!
And I can't take credit for Kimballs. That was Chris Boyce. I just received the picture he texted.
I love the sports update each Monday morning, it makes my day.
