Letter #54

Dear Family,

This week could be summed up in one word: WORK! It's missionary work, people, and it felt good this week to get out in the sun and thrust in the scythe. We, feeling we could improve especially in talking to everyone in our path, redoubled our efforts this week and it was so much enjoyable for it.

It is hot again. The three day winter in Brasil has ended and summer will continue until next June has begun. We broke out the sunscreen and cut our hair, put away the long sleeve shirts and began to buy ice cream and strawberry juice more than other things.

I hit one year. That's noteworthy I suppose as I ponder the fact that in one year I'll be with you! My companions and housemates surprised me with two cakes and we made a party of it.

We finally found a house to rent and I hope we will move in this week. It will help a lot with the work seeing as we live way out of our area and this eats up a lot of time. The house has an area to have a barbeque too so I'm sure that will be happening the next p-day : )

I've received a seemingly miraculous burst of energy these days and that has propelled me to begin exercising more in the morning now. I'd like it if you could send me a pdf of exercise training for the arm and the back. I have a tennis ball and bands and jump rope. The rest I'll make up ; )

We brought nine people to church Sunday and officially made the difference in breaking the attendance record of our ward. Yes! 107.

We have few people to really teach but the blessings of fast sunday were visible as we found many more to pass by, and several went to church. Our district also was able to bring lots of people to church, which has been the hardest thing for them to do. Hopefully lots of baptism this next week!

E. Alves keeps me happy with his jokes and enthusiasm, and E. Allen and Matos as well make home a nice place to crash at the end of the day.

This church is true! Who will know it from you?

Love,

Tanner

P.S. I know this is short!

Short but wonderful! I am glad to know they finally have a place to rent that is closer to their area. And, NINE investigators at church?!? That's fantastic!!
