While we were at LegoFest, Hunter was scouting the city for us, finding fun things to see. One of his favorites was Mt. Echo Park, an amazing place to catch Cincinnati's skyline.
Hunter also took us to Spring Grove Cemetery, the second largest in the United States.
There were plenty of haunted stories, and crypts, and statues.
The list of famous people interred there included Proctor and Gamble, children of Rutherford Hayes, parents of Ulysses S. Grant, baseball icon Miller Huggins...
When a massive cholera epidemic struck Cincinnati, and the small church cemeteries were crowded, visionaries developed this cemetery as a place of comfort and contemplation for families.
My favorite was the memorial to Johnny Appleseed.
Many know he carried a sack of apple seeds, but it's not as well known that the other hand always had a Bible. "May he be remembered in fact as well as in legend for his Godliness and goodness."
And no trip is complete without ice cream...
Or chocolate!
Aglamesis Brothers Ice Cream and Candy

Since 1908
In historic Oakley Square, it was a great way to finish the day.
And bonus! Right next door is an AWESOME toy store with those hard to find kind of treasures, King Arthur's Court Toys.
