Is it Friday Yet?

My oven element burned out, so for the time being I'm limited to stove top and crock pot. Which is why making my assigned dessert for the cross country dinner, chocolate mint brownies, posed a little problem. While I'm borrowing some one else's oven, lets make a pizza and banana muffins as well!

Don't even ask. It's not what it looks like, that would be much worse. Banana muffins all over the rug is bad enough. I'm counting my blessings it wasn't brownie batter or pizza as well. Any suggestions?

My friend blogged this recipe today...it's cooked in the microwave. No over required! :-)

Fudge Pudding Cake
A fudgy chocolate pudding cake that “bakes” right in the microwave.
1 cup all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup milk

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 teaspoon vanilla

1 cup chopped nuts

1 cup packed brown sugar

1/4 cup baking cocoa

1 3/4 cups boiling water

Mix flour, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons cocoa, the baking powder, and salt in 2-quart

microwaveable casserole.

Stir in milk, oil, and vanilla. Stir in nuts. Spread evenly in casserole. Mix brown sugar and 1/4 cup cocoa; sprinkle over batter. Pour boiling water over batter.

Microwave uncovered on medium (50%) 9 minutes; rotate casserole 1/2 turn. Microwave on high 5 to 6 minutes or until top is almost dry.

Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream. Serves 9.

We didn't add the nuts, but vanilla ice cream and a squirt of whip cream were the perfect compliment!

k...that looks like VOMIT! Call in the dog, isn't that what they are good for? He needs a little fattening up anyway. SORRY! Wish I could share my oven with you. :(

Banana Muffins, that’s simple……..

What you need is a Monkey, every Monkey worth his weight in Bananas could clean that up in a moment and still have a smile on his face.

From experience; I should mention that anything and everything that a monkey eats, does have a habit of migrating out of the monkey over time, generally a very short time.

Again, from experience; although a Monkey could clean it up, cleaning up after the monkey will make you wish you only had banana muffins in the carpet.

Good Luck and let me know if you need anymore sound advice.
