Elder Schenewark,
Happy Sabbath! I love Sundays. Not coincidentally that it coincides with the end of my work week and the beginning of my days off, nor that there's no school lunches no make, or wash to do, but that I can be home with my family. More and more I just want to be with my family, for this is my peace and greatest happiness.
We went to Weatherford Hall middle school to watch Miller in his first 8th grade football game. He isn't supposed to be the main quarterback, but due to a little ankle twist and permanent heel issues, Miller began the game. He ran two plays to touchdown, a third to the one yard line, and one to extra points. Granbury is not a passing school, I think, but one pass of the evening, and the longest, was successfully caught converting for a first down. He had a few kick offs, which were great as well. They won 13-7. Dad uploaded some of the videos on social media since you can't see him jingle and jangle, hip and hop, twist and turn, around all those defenders.
Breyer has tried for several years to run for student council. This year she's trying again as a student council officer, eligible for fifth graders. They changed the format for candidates to now making a short video that is shown in classroom to all 3rd through 5th graders, this coming Thursday; as well as allowing them four half size poster board posters to display in the hallways beginning tomorrow. I'll be posting the posters and her pre-recorded speech on the blog. I told her about Tanner's valedictorian speech, and she chose to borrow his idea of President Hinckley's "B's". She's adorable, and I wish her the best of luck in her campaign she's worked very hard towards.
Sawyer's week consisted of a lot of homecoming activities - Friday night homecoming game, creative asking a date to the dance moment, Saturday's school dance including pictures and dinner beforehand and ice cream afterwards. Pictures will also be forthcoming for this. He's finally finishing up the huge horse order this weekend. I have it hanging on my coat hooks until he's finished with everything.
Sawyer was asked to speak in Sacrament meeting last night. He did an amazing job, and his friend zoomed in due to the late night homecoming activities. He has a baseball friend, that's friends with Julie Smith, that has been coming a lot. His topic was Reverence and Remembrance, due to 9/11 - and I loved his quote by Elder Renlund, "We remember them not for their own gratification but for the influence such remembrance has on us."
I taught in Relief Society on Elder Soares, "Ultimate Caregiver." Mom joined in on Zoom. She lifts me up.
I missed hearing your voice today - but it's not like it's been six months, as your brothers endured. So have a wonderful week. Know of our love for you.
Mom
