I'm still struggling to find a routine again with writing. But I am writing. Just not finishing.
Porter is still working away at all his odd jobs. The Smith family has provided a constant source through yard work. Stumpy hours actually increased because other employees are leaving. All financial blessings. He has yet to pack and his belongings are scattered everywhere. I just try to work around him, knowing that soon enough the rooms will be uncluttered. After sleeping on the floor for almost a month, he moved to the king size bed. He did try the bunk bed a night or two but the top bunks are too hot with the leftover Texas heat rising to his heights.
Sawyer had a momentous few days before school. He went with Dad to Stephenville, and was able to pass and obtain his first drivers license. A few days before he got his braces off, was given retainers, and was able to flash those pearly whites for his license photo. All part of his plan. Friday we put him on the insurance policy, and removed Cooper and Porter. And my price stayed the same. Got to love Sawyer's age range. He did qualify for the good student discount!
Miller is still tentatively finding his way around his new middle school status. After two days of sitting in gym, finally playing dodge ball Friday seemed to cement his new routine a bit more firmly. He's so anchored around his physical accomplishments he was a bit lost. He's maintained a 100% on daily quizzes, of which my finding out make his eyes roll. M
Breyer has slid into the school routine like she never left. New teacher, new classmates - as long as she has recess with old friends she's happy. Getting the bedtime routine and the morning wake up routine backed up a few hours each has been a bit more work. My being home Monday and Tuesday mornings has been nice in that regard.

Jarrod is working on the trip to France, his on line classes, his fall schedule, his new responsibilities as President of the Faculty Senate , and of course there's being the Bishop. He doesn't have a lot of downtime but he has loved playing weekly baseball games with his boys. Having everyone there for one game this summer was his highlight. He's taking the young men to a Ranger's game today, and of course there's a bobble head giveaway.
Wagner's training seems to be temporarily on hold. I can't go to the Saturday training meetings, and can't advance on my own. I have been invited this Monday to an interview, to see if I am formally accepted onto the SORT team. After that I'll have to work at unofficial trainings until my schedule changes. I spent early Wednesday morning in the ER with Porter. I feel bad keeping him all night but was glad he was up when I had to go. I thought I was having a urinary tract infection, but as I've never had one before, learned that would be no. Passing copious blood clots and blood aren't common occurrences, and are related to having a bladder infection. I feel lucky never having to go through this in my first century. Here's to hoping it won't happen again for an other fifty years.
Here's hoping to another fifty years.
