Cooper is building a Vans RV 12 in his class, an "Eagle Nest" program that has students building a full size airplane from the ground up.
This is last year's airplane, built by a group of 24 students, and on the runway for its debut flight.
Their motto?
"Mentors build the students, students build the airplane"
Next fall Cooper's plane will be show cased at the Granbury airport.
He went to the Fort Worth airshow to support the former class and their plane.
