Bull Durham

Mr. Brown Sign was in Chapel Hill, NC, and took the time to attend a minor league baseball game of the Durham Bulls, one of the oldest, continuous minor league teams, around since 1902 and currently feeder team for the Tampa Bay Rays.

Go Bulls!

Their version of Fenway's green wall:

"Hit Bull...Hit Steak"
"Hit Grass...Win Salad"

"A gift to the city of Durham from its sister city Toyama, Japan"

The player who was willing to help retrieve some dirt from the ballpark, Mr. Brown Sign's newest ballfield tradition and memento.

He actually came home with dirt from the game? Nice ballplayer to do that for him. And what, may I ask, will he do with his new dirt?

He wants to collect dirt from all the ball parks - and put them in little "Gold flake" glass jars.

Dirt? Are you sure it not the leftovers from the bunny cage again?

I hope that nice player makes it to Tampa Bay.
