Quiz Bowl

The Quiz Bowl Team, without Hunter, who was sick, had a tenuous chance of winning.
And the competition today is one of their hardest teams to beat.

Porter was asked to be team Captain, temporarily, and filled Hunter's shoes impressively.
The first round they were down by one question, the second round ended being down by three. The third round ended with the score being tied, and then the lightening round began.

18 out of 20 questions, and the score was still tied.
Question 19: In 1922, in the Valley of the King's, who discovered the tomb belonging to King Tutankhamun? (Howard Carter)

Porter buzzed in with the correct answer.

Question 20: What color of flame appears when Barium is burned? (green)
Neither team answered correctly, so Porter's answer to #19 gave Fairland the win!
Go Porter!

When answering questions from a section about the top 100 films of all time, one such question posed to the team described the movie Schlinder's List. Teammates were whispering the answer to Porter, who heard Hitler and Schlinder at the same time. Answering Schitler's List brought down the house.

Congratulations Porter on the win--good for you! I love the answer
"Schitler's list". That will go down in history. We need a nice laugh once in awhile, and Porter really brought that on. Way to go!
