Magnolia Blossoms and Motherhood

Becoming reacquainted with my feet and legs has been enjoyable! I've thoroughly enjoyed being able to move more, and have enjoyed walking as the weather has warmed. Long before there are buds on all the trees, or the tulips or daffodils have bloomed, the magnolia tree blossoms in full splendor.

The large, beautiful, pink blossoms cover the entire tree, pulling branches down because they're so heavy! The magnolia tree is a symbol of hope to me that winter is on its way out and spring has arrived.
The magnolia blossom however, is short-lived. Within a few days the blossom browns, becomes limp, and is easily blown or rained off the tree. Just as magnolia blossoms, motherhood is a beautiful blessing that fills our lives with beauty and joy but, is quickly fleeting as our children grow, or die, and leave home.

But, there is an eternity of pink blossoms awaiting us if we are worthy. Knowing we can raise children eternally is a great blessing of the gospel.

The blossoms are even more beautiful because they are fleeting.
