NINE MONTHS in Days: Healthy Matters

Lots of itching.
Condition called cholestasis, caused by pregnancy hormones.

Lots of those in the same place.

Hopefully they'll all go away!

Gestational diabetes caused by the cholestasis.
Pricking fingers four times a day, and medicine for high blood sugar - could be much worse.
Thank goodness I never had to do insulin.
This went away in the 9th month, to the confusion of the doctor.

My body doesn't make platelets when I'm pregnant.
Low platelets, low clotting factor meant monthly blood draws.
Ten in one day was a little extreme.

Third trimester weekly stress tests.

Third trimester ultrasounds: My favorite!

i can relate to most of those pregnancy symptoms, Amy jo. The pictures you just posted are interesting...but, I must say...where's the picture of you being 9 months pregnant, with a girl!? I'm sure everyone who reads your blog will concur that we'd much rather see a picture of you! I know what I"m expecting for the next post ;)
